Progress in Maths is a fully trialled and standardised series designed to provide you with rich diagnostic information about your pupils' mathematical ability.
Progress in Maths (PiM) has become the maths assessment of choice in many Primary schools. Each test has been developed to be ageappropriate in both presentation and content. Those for the youngest pupils are administered in small groups (and may be given individually) and require very young learners to demonstrate their understanding of number and shape and to give their responses in a variety of way.
With a test per year from age 4-14, Progress in Maths allows you to track progress and value-added within and across phases and set appropriate targets.
Benefits:
- Covers all current UK Curricula
- Provides level indicators
- May be used diagnostically to identify individuals’ needs
- Oral format for PiM 6–8 ensure that reading is not a factor in tests for younger pupils
- Activity-based format for PiM 4 and 5 allows teacher to observe and enables the youngest pupils to demonstrate their use of specific mathematical skills and concepts
- Series extends into secondary so PiM 11 is an ideal test for transition
- PiM 6–11 mapped to Assessment focuses to support teachers in Assessing Pupils’ Progress
